A. The Gospel is Central

We have framed our ministry around the gospel. Great contentment is ours because of it—we find ourselves of the same mind as that of D. Martyn Lloyd-Jones who wrote in The Heart of the Gospel (Wheaton, Ill.: Crossway, 1991), 165–66:

"In the gospel, I find satisfaction to my mind that I find nowhere else.… There is no problem of my life but that the gospel deals with it and answers it. I find intellectual rest and an answer to all my questions.

And, thank God, my heart and my desires are also satisfied. I find complete satisfaction in Christ. There is no desire, there is nothing that my heart can crave for but He can more than satisfy. All the restlessness of desire is quelled by Him as He breathes His peace into my troubles and problems and restlessness.…

So I am given rest in spite of my circumstances. The gospel enables me to say with the Apostle Paul, “I am persuaded”—which means, I am certain—“that neither death nor life nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Rom. 8:38–39). That is perfect rest which is independent of circumstances; that is to be calm in the midst of a storm."
GraceLife Church has been founded to the glory of God. We have carefully and prayerfully adopted a doctrinal framework and governance that, in our view, best honors God and His revealed intention for the Church. It is our hope that you will be strengthened and encouraged by participating with us in the exposition of “What We Teach” from careful expository messages week by week, in depth Sunday School and small group Bible studies.

B. The Centrality of the Gospel Assumes Sound Doctrine

We believe that the primary need of the 21st century Church is sound doctrine – we believe the Bible clearly teaches that sound doctrine is a prerequisite and absolutely necessary for the proclamation of the gospel unto salvation (Rom 6:17), to equip the body of Christ for every good work (2 Tim 3:16-17), and for individual sanctification (2 Tim 2:7). And whereas it is the chief duty of Christ’s ministers to proclaim sound doctrine (2 Tim 4:1-5), and so unify the body of Christ in maturity (Eph 4:11-16)—it is therefore absolutely urgent to grapple seriously with the Scripture (2 Tim 2:15), coordinate theological tradition (2 Tim 2:2; Heb 13:7), and formulate truth to confront and inform the present age and the current generation of the body of Christ.

C. A Balanced Ministry of Bible Teaching, Fellowship and Missions

Bible Teaching, Fellowship and Missions are the heart of a Biblical Christian ministry and we strive to have a God honoring passion for these three distinctives.

"And they were continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer." (Acts 2:42 NASB)

"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life." (John 3:16 (NASB95))

"All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work" (II Timothy 3:16-17).
We purpose to dramatically impact the local community, our work place, and the world around us with unrestrained expressions of the love of Jesus Christ through worship, evangelism, service and discipleship; to change both the lives of those we are trying to reach as well as our own for the glory of God.
