The Ellingsons

Pastor Training and Church Strengthening in Madagascar, Africa

David and Ashley Ellingson are missionaries to the island nation of Madagascar. After one year of French language school in Albertville, France (2019-2020), they will join their GMI teammates Faly and Lily Ravoahangy in Antananarivo, Madagascar. David will have the privilege of training indigenous pastors in the Scriptures, theology, and preaching God’s Word, so they will be able to properly feed and shepherd their flocks. His team will accomplish this training through regional workshops, conferences, and, Lord willing, by establishing the first biblical seminary in Madagascar focused on expository preaching. David will also serve in a local church where he will identify, train, and disciple godly men for future leadership. David and Ashley will also serve this local body of believers through biblical counseling and hospitality. Pray for the Ellingson family as they proclaim the fame of Christ’s Name to the nations.

The Morales Family

Pastor Training and Church Planting in Colombia

Ricardo and Vonna Morales are missionaries to Colombia. Though plagued by wars and violence for almost a century, Colombias greatest need is not just political peace, but the power of God (the gospel) to change the hearts of its people. Colombia is a predominately Catholic country that in recent years has been flooded with false teaching, particularly influenced by the charismatic movement. Spiritual experiences, good works, and financial giving are peddled as the means of salvation. Though hungry for the truth, most Colombian pastors shepherd with a very rudimentary understanding of the gospel and have never had any formal biblical training. Their faith is not established on the right interpretation of Scripture, but on emotions and spiritual fads. This reality makes pastors and their congregations easy targets of false teachers.

Observing the consequences of this fiery attack on the gospel and the church has motivated Ricardo to work alongside Fernando Jaimes to establish a TMAI (The Masters Academy International) training center in Colombia. The mission statement of TMAI sums up the Morales reason for going to Colombia:TMAI is committed to fulfilling the Great Commission by training indigenous church leaders to be approved pastor-teachers, able to equip their churches to make biblically sound disciples.
