New Look | New Name
Same Doctrine | Same Great People
When we planted Grace Reformed Baptist Church 7 years ago, we chose a name that would say a lot about who we are. There were some reformed churches in Edmonton, but not any reformed Baptist churches. So we made sure our name informed people that we stood in that gap.
But at this point in our ministry, we would prefer that our name say a bit less about who we are, so that our people, and our ministry can be that which defines us.
We got the name from a church plant in London, England by two Master’s Seminary graduates called GraceLife London. And we actually helped support that church in its early stages of inception as part of our missions’ contribution. And if Grace (that brings Life) doesn’t define our faith, ministry, doctrine and our fellowship, nothing does! And at the centre of Grace is, of course, the cross.
We hope you like our New Look and our New Name. God Bless,

WHAT WE ARE ABOUT
A. THE GOSPEL IS CENTRAL
We have framed our ministry around the gospel. Great contentment is ours because of it—we find ourselves of the same mind as that of D. Martyn Lloyd-Jones who wrote in The Heart of the Gospel (Wheaton, Ill.: Crossway, 1991), 165–66:
GraceLife Church has been founded to the glory of God. We have carefully and prayerfully adopted a doctrinal framework and governance that, in our view, best honors God and His revealed intention for the Church. It is our hope that you will be strengthened and encouraged by participating with us in the exposition of “What We Teach” from careful expository messages week by week, in depth Sunday School and small group Bible studies.
B. THE CENTRALITY OF THE GOSPEL ASSUMES SOUND DOCTRINE
We believe that the primary need of the 21st century Church is sound doctrine – we believe the Bible clearly teaches that sound doctrine is a prerequisite and absolutely necessary for the proclamation of the gospel unto salvation (Rom 6:17), to equip the body of Christ for every good work (2 Tim 3:16-17), and for individual sanctification (2 Tim 2:7). And whereas it is the chief duty of Christ’s ministers to proclaim sound doctrine (2 Tim 4:1-5), and so unify the body of Christ in maturity (Eph 4:11-16)—it is therefore absolutely urgent to grapple seriously with the Scripture (2 Tim 2:15), coordinate theological tradition (2 Tim 2:2; Heb 13:7), and formulate truth to confront and inform the present age and the current generation of the body of Christ.
C. A BALANCED MINISTRY OF BIBLE TEACHING, FELLOWSHIP AND MISSIONS
Bible Teaching, Fellowship and Missions are the heart of a Biblical Christian ministry and we strive to have a God honoring passion for these three distinctive.
"And they were continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer." (Acts 2:42 NASB)
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life." (John 3:16 (NASB95))
"All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work" (II Timothy 3:16-17).
We purpose to dramatically impact the local community, our work place, and the world around us with unrestrained expressions of the love of Jesus Christ through worship, evangelism, service and discipleship; to change both the lives of those we are trying to reach as well as our own for the glory of God.
Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions, or drop by if you live in or are visiting the Edmonton area. We would love to meet you.
